It's Thursday! (11.06.2008)

All I am going to say about last night is WINE and CHINESE TAKEOUT.

Moving on!

This morning the snooze button was somehow pushed about 3 times more than usual which led to a very late start. whoopsie daisy.

Breakfast was a bowl of grape nuts, raisins, almonds, and skim milk. I like alot of milk with my cereal, as you can see.
I also stopped and got a regular "Costa Rica" blend coffee from High Grounds, my corner coffee shop. Brett, the owner, roasts his own coffee and it has such a smooth taste. I have just started drinking the regular because it isn't bitter like I thought regular coffee was! Lots of skim milk and one packet of sugar in the raw - it tastes perfect. Oh and it is also $2 cheaper than the lattes! sold.

Had a flat out wrap with almond butter and pumpkin butter for my morning snack today. I am loving these Flat Outs - I was convinced I didn't like whole wheat tortillas because I hated how they would always break. Then I realized I had been eating the wrong kind! Flat outs are so chewy and stretchy - it is great.
Lunch was Vegetable Korma with a spoonful of Fage on top. This was such a tasty and filling lunch. I love that this one comes with rice - long grain brown rice to be exact. I also like that I recognize everything in the ingredient list - all real stuff. Thought you may be interested in the Nutrition Facts on this:

Calories: 300, Fat: 6g, Sodium: 680mg, Carbohydrates: 52g, Protein: 8g
Not too shabby - the sodium is a bit much, but as long as I watch it for the rest of the day...hopefully Teri will be ok with that! :)

Afternoon snack will probably be the rest of the greek yogurt with grape nuts and dried cranberries...but I do have a PB Zbar and banana hanging at my desk, so who knows!
Tonight will be one of my last runs (if not the last one) before the Harrisburg Marathon on SUNDAY. My plan is to do a 3-miler. The weather is still looking great for Sunday - low of 36, high of 53! I have been planning out my gear for Sunday because I know I will be cold when I start, but will warm up quickly and not want to be wearing too much.

My plan is to wear running pant/capris, a long-sleeve dry-fit with a short-sleeve under armour over top and then wear running gloves I can throw off when I don't need them anymore. I actually got some in the bag for the Baltimore marathon, so that is perfect. Depending on how I feel in the morning, I am going to bring a running headband, in case. The good thing is that Kevin should be riding along some portions on his bike, so I can give him stuff I don't want. My dad is running the last 20 with me, so that will help get me through! My stomach is starting to get nervous!

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday!

3 days to go...(10.08.08)

are my subject titles annoying yet? ;) This morning I woke up and had a bowl of honey nut shredded wheat with skim milk. And then I drank the honey nut flavored milk at the bottom. yum. (this is a recycled picture, so I decided to pump up the color of the cereal to make it more visually appealing, but it looks weird now. sorry.)

When I got to work, I made a new yogurt combination that was great. I mixed 0% fage with Annies chocolate chip bunny grahams!
The bunnies got sort of mushy in the yogurt after they were mixed in for a minute or so and it tasted like chocolate chip cookie dough - no joke! It was delicious!

I also drank about half of this Naked Mighty Mango drink, but it was extremely sweet! I did like the short ingredient list and knowing that the sugars are coming straight from the fruits...
Tonight, my sister, her husband and kids are coming over to go play on this awesome playground in the park near me and then have Matthew's Pizza. This place is pretty well known in Baltimore for having thicker crust, amazing pizza. I am more of a thin crust pizza girl, but every now and then, this stuff tastes great.
I am off to eat another south african orange. I like saying that the oranges are from south africa. sounds exotic.

Owner Treats

This morning started with a brisk walk in the park for Oscar where we met up with one of his dog walking pals. (i broke out the hooded sweatshirts - love it) He ran up and was playing with this one dog like he had known her forever, so us owners figured out they walk together because of the notes we get from the dog walker! Stopped by high grounds on the my way to work for a delicious skinny caramel latte.

Breakfast was made at work - a bowl of oatmeal mixed with hot water, raisins, almonds, almond butter, and pumpkin butter. delish! Mid-morning snack was a key lime pie larabar - this is my 2nd favorite to coconut creme pie and I think it is the unsweetened coconut that i love - it makes the bars moister. (sorry there are no pics!)

Lunch was provided by Buon Giorno - my favorite lunch spot. Today, I couldnt resist getting a slice of cheese pizza because it truly is my all-time favorite. Very thin and chewy crust. It is seriously heaven. I paired it with a garden salad and their tangy house balsamic dressing on the side. This afternoon, I mixed a container of 0% fage with Honey Almond Flax GoLean Crunch and a very ripe peach. But, this time, the peach was too ripe and it didnt taste as sweet.

About to head to the vet for Oscar's yearly appt - he is going to hate me, but I love going to this place because on top of providing dog treats - they provide owner treats! Yes, they bake fresh cookies in the waiting room for pet owners - how amazing is that? I was sold on this place as soon as I found that out! For any locals - Eastern Animal Hospital - go there - they bake fresh cookies!!! :)

Check out a picture of some local produce my sister gave me last night - very excited to try the white eggplant!Kevin and I have a 12-mile run tomorrow AM and then I am going out with some friends to celebrate a birthday! Should be fun!
